Lenovo Joins Early IJP OLED Monitor Push With ThinkVision P27UL-40

September 9, 2026

At IFA 2026, Lenovo announced the ThinkVision P27UL-40, a new 27” monitor using inkjet-printed (IJP) OLED technology.

Lenovo becomes the second major brand to announce a 27” IJP OLED monitor, following MSI’s introduction of the Pro Max OLED 271UPJW12 in August 2026.

The ThinkVision P27UL-40 uses a 27” IJP OLED panel from TCL China Star with a 3840 × 2160 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Lenovo did not provide additional display specifications.

The monitor is scheduled for release in March 2027, starting at $1,299.

TCL CSOT remains in the early stages of commercializing its inkjet-printed OLED technology, with production likely limited to relatively low volumes from its Gen 5.5 IJP OLED line. While the ThinkVision P27UL-40 represents an important consumer-facing application, TCL CSOT has previously used the Gen 5.5 line to manufacture OLED panels for specialized commercial applications, including medical displays.

The Lenovo launch therefore represents another step in TCL CSOT’s transition from specialized and industrial IJP OLED applications toward the broader consumer electronics market.

As highlighted in the Display Week 2026 Wrap-up Webinar and in the Advanced IT Display Technology Report, TCL CSOT showcased several notable IJP OLED innovations during Display Week 2026 that signaled its broader commercialization roadmap.

TCL CSOT has branded its IJP OLED technology as “APEX”, which stands for:

  • Amazing display experience
  • Protective of eye health
  • Eco-friendly to build and use
  • X-unlimited imaginative potential

Bottom line

Lenovo’s ThinkVision P27UL-40 is significant less for its initial volume potential and more for what it signals about IJP OLED commercialization. With both Lenovo and MSI now introducing 27” products based on TCL China Star panels, IJP OLED is beginning to move beyond demonstrations and specialized applications into branded consumer monitors.

Volumes are likely to remain limited initially, but these launches provide TCL CSOT with an important opportunity to validate IJP OLED manufacturing, performance and market acceptance ahead of potentially larger-scale commercialization.
