Jene (Jin Suk) is a Senior Research Analyst at Counterpoint Research based on Seoul korea, Since he started his career in Samsung, he experienced various industry and jobs including Strategy Consultant in international Consulting firms. To pursue his major interest in smart devices and connectivity, he joined Counterpoint Research team. In academic side, Jene holds a Bachelor of Economics degree in Yonsei Univ in Korea.

Archie Zhang is a Beijing-based research analyst specializing in the smartphone market. Formerly an award-winning Financial Times journalist covering China’s tech sector, Archie brings a unique blend of industry insight and storytelling expertise to market analysis.

Shenghao Bai

Shenghao Bai is a senior analyst at Counterpoint Research, specializing in Teardown & BoM analysis and smartphone supply chain research. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Shenghao has extensive experience working with leading smartphone and smart device companies, including Samsung Electronics, OPPO, and Xiaomi, where he oversaw hardware development and project management across a range of products. His expertise spans product planning and emerging technology trends.

Ethan Qi

Ethan is an associate director in Counterpoint‘s Greater China team, dedicated to research of smart device, semicondutor and BoM analysis, AI Robotics Research, and emerging technologies. Ethan has been working in the handset and semiconductor industry for 10+ years. Prior to joining Counterpoint Research, Ethan served Coolpad, VIA and Intel sequentially as senior technology researcher and product manager respectively.

Shaochen Wang

Shaochen Wang is a Research Analyst at Counterpoint Research, based in Beijing, China. At Counterpoint, he closely monitors the automotive and intelligent robotics industries, with a particular focus on pivotal technologies—including Autonomous Vehicles, Humanoid Robots, and Artificial Intelligence—that underpin generalized autonomy. He began his career at Lenovo Group in the Corporate Strategy division. Prior to joining Counterpoint Research, his most recent role was as a Consultant at EY China. He holds a MSc in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BSc in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.

Soumen Mandal

Soumen is a Senior Analyst tracking IoT, Automotive and Telecommunication ecosystem at Counterpoint Research. He is interested in IoT applications, connections, components, electric vehicles, connected cars, autonomous vehicles, semiconductors, shared mobility, services and emerging technologies. He started his career as an Energy Analyst with Manikaran Power Ltd. He has experience working with DISCOMs and SLDCs in the Indian power and energy industry. He is currently based in Gurgaon. He holds an Electrical Engineering degree and an MBA in Marketing & Finance.

Ivan Lam

Ivan is a Senior Research Analyst at Counterpoint Research, based in Hong Kong. He has more than 15 years of experience, with a major focus on mobile and network devices. He has spent years in Southeast Asia markets working in business development, brand management, and channel management. In addition to his expertise in Southeast Asia, he is also well connected with the ODM and OEM sectors. Prior to joining Counterpoint Research, Ivan served at TCL Communication, KaiOS Technologies Inc., and Wiko Mobile, mainly leading business development, go-to-market strategy, and strategic planning. Ivan holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
