Memory Price Tracker, July 2026: Tears of OEMS

0
July 7, 2026
Overview:

Despite an expected deceleration in memory price growth for Q3 2026, DRAM prices are now projected to surge by 15%-20% QoQ—surpassing initial forecasts due to sustained customer demand and Micron's strong fiscal results.

This rising cost burden is being directly passed down to consumers, leading to price hikes for Apple products, gaming consoles, AWS GPU services, and entry-level smartphones, while smaller vendors are cutting sales targets.

Tech giants are prioritizing immediate server deployment and data center scale-out by purchasing larger quantities of lower-capacity memory modules (such as scaling down SOCAMM2 capacity per CPU) with the strategy of upgrading memory capacity later.

Table of Contents:
  • Server Memory Pricing Remains Strong: Recent Concerns Not a Sign of Demand Slowdown
  • Consumer Segment Suffers: Mobile DRAM Price Nearly Doubled from the Previous Quarter
  • Memory Price Remains Persistently Strong
