  • Network Monitoring and Optimisation: With real-time, agent-based monitoring, CSPs can track network metrics, resolve errors, and implement optimisations using AI agents across the network.
  • Advanced Network Security: Enhanced threat detection, continuous monitoring, digital forensics, and other security features become possible, strengthening network protection.
  • Predictive Traffic Management: Automation-driven predictions enable more effective utilisation of network resources, such as spectrum, through self-healing capabilities and intent-driven dynamic resource allocation.


Collectively, these features empower CSPs to achieve significant OPEX – and eventually CAPEX – savings, enabling them to deliver more services with fewer resources and heightened efficiency.

Ericsson’s 5G-Advanced is also designed to elevate connectivity and user experiences, particularly for the mobile AI era. Key innovations include:

  • Premium Network Performance: Ericsson 5G-Advanced incorporates technologies such as Advanced Multi-Layer Coordination, 2x and higher Carrier Aggregation for Uplink, advanced beamforming (utilising higher-order spectrum), TDD (Time-Division Duplex) Carrier Aggregation and AI/ML-based intent-driven performance enhancements. These advances deliver superior downlink and uplink performance without necessitating extra base stations.
  • Enhanced Device Performance: Collaborations with device chipset vendors and OEMs enable optimisations such as improved PDCCH monitoring, versatile use of carrier frequencies, and quicker transitions to idle mode. These improvements translate into better battery life for a range of devices – from smartphones to wearables and AR/VR equipment.
  • New Connectivity Experiences: 5G-Advanced unlocks a wider gamut of capabilities – 5G RedCap for the large-scale deployment of IoT devices; precise indoor and outdoor positioning; deterministic latency for industrial and AR/VR applications; improved uplink and QoS controls for targeted SLA fulfilment; prioritised call queuing; FRMCS for premium railway connectivity and more, all bringing in newer connectivity experiences which can improve experience and revenue generation opportunities for CSPs.
