India’s smartwatch market declined 9% YoY in Q4 2025, according to Counterpoint Research’s Consumer IoT Service, due to a slowdown in the budget segment, which is facing saturation and limited innovation. The decline appeared moderate due to a favorable base effect, with comparisons against a weaker Q4 2024 following the 2023 peak.
At the same time, festive demand pushed up average selling prices (ASPs) as consumers shifted toward higher-value smartwatches. Apple’s growing presence in the premium tier is intensifying competition for local brands, boosting volumes in that segment and helping cushion the overall decline. This shift from volume-led to value-led growth reflects a more mature market with a gradually improving outlook.
Commenting on the market dynamics, Principal Analyst Anshika Jain said, “In Q4 2025, India’s smartwatch market transitioned into a more stable and value-driven phase, as consumers began shifting beyond entry-level devices. This upgrade cycle is driven by demand for key features like AMOLED displays, more accurate health tracking and built-in GPS, which pushed the Q4 ASP up by 16% YoY, with the INR 5,000-INR 10,000 segment emerging as the new mainstream. Growth is being reinforced by higher smartwatch attachment with smartphones, helped by easy financing and no-cost EMI options. Apple is seeing strong traction in this shift, as users prefer reliable performance and a stronger ecosystem with its latest Watch models, pointing to a more mature market with a positive growth outlook.”
