Global XR (AR & VR Headsets) Model Tracker 2020 Q1 - 2025 Q1, Q1
Overview:
In Q1 2025, global VR headset shipments declined 22% YoY and 60% QoQ. The YoY decline was primarily driven by weaker sales from major OEMs, including Meta, Apple, and DPVR. Meanwhile, the QoQ drop reflected seasonal trends following the promotional peak in the last quarter of 2024. Global shipments of AR smart glasses grew by 31% YoY in Q1 2025, marking the end of three consecutive quarters of YoY decline. The strong YoY growth was driven by new product launches from leading OEM, Xreal, the entry of new players into the market, broader international expansion by existing OEMs compared to the same period last year, and China’s nationwide consumer electronics subsidy program.
