US FWA Subscriber Growth Driven by Different Carrier Strategies

Since 2022, 5G FWA has been a driving force behind the growth of the US fixed broadband industry. 5G FWA subscribers have migrated from slower DSL and cable technologies, while also attracting new users to fixed broadband services. This shift in subscriber preference is evident in the net adds growth for 5G FWA, which has significantly outpaced the combined decline of DSL and cable. This indicates that the US fixed broadband market is increasingly reliant on 5G FWA services.
Although FWA subscribers have surpassed the combined growth of other services, the exceptional growth rate has begun to decelerate. In response, operators have implemented various strategies to mitigate the decline in net adds and secure sustained revenue growth in the FWA market.
