Overview: This report highlights the latest trends in the GenAI segment for smartphones. It provides an insightful view of the changing trends in the GenAI smartphone market, categorized by brand, price band, and region. The report also includes the best-selling GenAI smartphones and their key GenAI features.

GenAI-capable smartphones contributed 18.3% to global total smartphone sales in Q3 2024. During the quarter, more than 80 GenAI-capable smartphones were offered by 18 brands. Most of these devices were premium. Apple has released iOS 18.1 for iPhone, starting with the iPhone 15 Pro series, introducing the first batch of Apple Intelligence GenAI features. Additional features are expected to arrive with the iOS 18.2 update, which is currently in beta testing. Apple remains committed to advancing Apple Intelligence and is expected to expand its capabilities throughout 2025, with more features being rolled out gradually. Samsung remained in the second position with the same 24% share in Q3 2024. Samsung expanded its GenAI-capable lineup with three new additions: the Galaxy Flip6, Fold6, and S24 FE. We anticipate that GenAI capabilities will begin trickling down to mid-tier models starting in 2025. High-end variants of the Galaxy A series are also expected to debut with GenAI features.
