Xiaomi emerged from obscurity in 2021 after a three-year hiatus, successfully re-entering the tablet market with its Pad 5 series amid rising demand during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pad 5 tablets more than doubled Xiaomi’s shipments and set the stage for its rapid growth. Building on this momentum, Xiaomi released a new model in 2022 and significantly expanded its lineup with four new models in 2023, followed by six in 2024. This consistent annual refresh, coupled with increasing demand for its smartphones, propelled Xiaomi to record six consecutive quarters of growth. Consequently, Xiaomi surpassed Amazon to rank fifth in global tablet market shipments, increasing its market share in Q2 2024.
