Overview: MediaTek dominated the smartphone SoC market in Q3 2024 with a 35% share. While 5G shipments remained flat, LTE chipset shipments increased. MediaTek’s premium-tier shipments are expected to rise due to the launch of the Dimensity 9400. Qualcomm captured a 25% share of the smartphone AP/SoC market during the quarter, driven by growth in the premium segment. Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 series drove momentum for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 shipments. Additionally, design wins for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 series chipsets from Chinese smartphone OEMs contributed to this growth. Apple accounted for a 17% share in the quarter. Its shipments increased in Q3 due to the launch of the A18 chipset. Apple this time introduced two chipsets – the A18 and A18 Pro.
