Overview:
Global foldable smartphone shipments increased in Q4 2023, although overall smartphone shipments declined 4% YoY during the quarter. In 2023, global foldable shipments increased by 25% YoY, as foldables transitioned from being a niche device to a mass-market product. This shift was driven by diversification in folding types, cover window materials, and the pricing of foldable phones.
