In Q4 2023, the global foldable smartphone market increased 31.3% YoY, based on shipments, to reach 4.8 million units, driven by the Chinese foldable market (up 91.4% YoY), the Asia-Pacific foldable market (up 80.5% YoY) and the Europe foldable market (up 37.6% YoY). The primary factor in the changes in the global foldable market in 2023 was the continued high growth of the Chinese foldable market. Another characteristic of 2023 is that even excluding China, the Asian and MEA foldable markets are showing continued growth.
