Global foldable market analysis, Q1 2023
Overview:
Global foldable shipments rose 64% YoY in Q1 2023 to reach 2.52 million units, mainly due to the overall growth trend of the global foldable market and especially the rapid growth of the Chinese foldable market. China’s foldable market shipments surged 127% YoY in Q1 2023 to reach 1.1 million units as overall smartphone shipments continued to grow during the quarter, exceeding 1 million units for the first time. Samsung led the global foldable market with a 63% share, recording shipments of 1.58 million units in Q1 2023. OPPO rose to second place with a share of about 14% in the global foldable market, surpassing Huawei.
