Global Foldable Smartphone Market Tracker, Q1 2023
Overview:
The global foldable smartphone market showed 2.52 m units in Q1 2023, a year-on-year increase of about 64% based on sell-in volume. While the overall smartphone market is moving sideways, the YoY increase in foldable smartphones is attributable primarily to the growth of the foldable market in China, where new foldable products were launched recently. In the first quarter of 2023, the Chinese foldable market showed 1.08 m units, accounting for 43% of the global foldable market, the highest ever. Besides the China market, the overall consumer awareness of foldable products is improving, with overall global foldable market demand showing moderate growth in the first quarter.
