Global Foldable Smartphone Market Tracker, Q4 2022 Feb2023
Overview:
The global foldable smartphone market declined with 3.46 m units in Q4 2022, a year-on-year decrease of about 15% based on sell-in volume. However, this decrease in 4Q foldable sell-in is mainly due to the explosive increase in shipment of foldable products in 3Q. If we check the volume in the second half of 2022, it still shows a 22.3% increase in the unit volume of 9.53 million. So, the sharp drop in global foldable shipments in 4Q compared to the previous year is analyzed as the result of excessive foldable sell-in compared to demand in 3Q.
