Wi-Fi Motion Sensing: Adding Value to Home Networks
Overview: Wi-Fi motion sensing is an emerging technology, leveraging existing Wi-Fi networks to detect movement in the home. Historically uptake of the technology has been limited, but major internet service providers (ISPs) have begun adopting Wi-Fi motions sensing, with Deutsche Telekom most recently showcasing Wi-Fi sensing at MWC 2025. More intelligent gateways and AI algorithms are improving motion sensing accuracy and capabilities, increasing value.
