To quickly summarize:
- The Global smartphone shipments kept growing in third-quarter as well registering 4% YoY in Q3 2025. While the mature markets like North America, Europe remained stable, Middle East & Africa (MEA) and Asia Pacific region led the growth driven by premiumization, festive demand and 5G upgrades.
- Global 5G smartphone shipments grew 10% YoY in Q3 2025, crossing over 236 million units, driven by rising 5G adoption in emerging markets driven by rising demand along with the increasing availability of affordable 5G smartphones.
- Apple led 5G smartphone shipments during the quarter with a 24% market share, growing 10% YoY. Most of this growth came from India, Japan, and the UK, which all posted double-digit gains, while China remained stable.
- Samsung’s 5G shipments grew 13% YoY in Q3 2025, reaching a 20% market share, driven primarily by its mid-range Galaxy A-series lineup. Xiaomi followed with an 11% share.
- In terms of regions, the Middle East & Africa (MEA) recorded the highest 5G shipment growth, rising 51% YoY, driven by strong performances from Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, and Honor, as these brands expanded their mid-range portfolios and benefited from improving 5G network availability across key markets.
- 4G handset shipments declined across all regions during the quarter, while 3G has now completely disappeared from the market in Q3 2025.
