LCD TV Panel Price Rally Will be Short-Lived

2026 started out with an upswing for LCD TV panel makers as prices increased in Q1 2026. But the rally will be short-lived, and prices will start decreasing again in Q2 as tepid demand outweighs controlled supply.

After some positive demand signals in the first months of 2025, the global TV market has stagnated. The TV market in Mainland China has been particularly weak, showing double-digit % decreases YoY for six consecutive months from July to December, according to Counterpoint’s Global TV Shipments Monthly Tracker. TV shipments for the full year 2025 were flat compared to 2024, and Q4 2025 shipments had the same lack of growth.
