Overview:
After a year-long hiatus, Apple introduced its new tablets for 2024 during its May event. The iPad Pro OLED is coming in with the familiar 11” and 13” variants, in addition to the new iPad Air 11” and 13”. The iPad Pro OLED, which is Apple’s first venture into the OLED tablet market adopts the new Tandem OLED display, free of the issues that previously plagued OLEDs and hindered their adoption in the market. Apple’s use of OLEDs and its expected success signifies the beginning of a new market standard, setting a precedent to be followed by the rest of the industry, all while increasing the scale of corresponding supply chains along the way.
