"The race towards 5G devices has already started and the early adopters are the 5G hotspots and Consumer Premise Equipment (5G CPE's). The size of these devices is fairly bigger than the last generation 4G LTE devices. Larger silicon size, discrete 5G modems and high Bills of Material (BoM) are a few of the broad reasons for 5G not trickling quickly into the handsets segment. However, the initial boost for 5G is going to be the portable hotspots and CPE's and not the smartphones. They will pick up later once the networks are ubiquitous and standalone." – Parv Sharma
