"Germany has finalized rules for the build-out of 5G mobile networks. The rules will not exclude China’s Huawei Technologies. Government officials confirmed that Germany’s so-called ‘security catalog’ foresaw an evaluation of technical and other criteria, but to create a level playing field for equipment vendors, no single vendor will be barred. This change in the German position on the Huawei ban for 5G is expected to spread throughout Europe. Of course, the German government's position is likely to change if security issues reappear. Huawei will do its best to avoid any security problems, so it is expected that there will be no problems in the short term. As a result, the 5G infrastructure market in Europe is likely to intensify competition." – Jene Park
