"Didi, the Chinese ride-hailing company, is expanding, and it will soon have a presence in a total of 32 cities in Mexico. Didi currently has services in 19 cities in Mexico, and the company just opened registration for drivers in another 13 cities. Didi arrived in Mexico in April 2018. Didi is competing with Uber, who is the leader of the ride-hailing market in Mexico. Uber has been in the country for almost six years with services in 41 cities. Although Uber and Didi have an investment in each other, in LATAM they compete head to head. Didi also competes with Cabify and a Greek ride-hailing company called Beats. As profits from China decrease, Didi is desperately looking for new markets to expand. In LATAM, the next market to open will most likely be Brazil as it has already set up the business foundation." – Tina Lu
