AT&T had a record low upgrade rate of 3.3% during the quarter, which was the main reason it sold through 13% fewer smartphones than a year ago. Postpaid saw the most weakness, down 15%. Cricket and prepaid were also down 11%, but the prepaid channel had an extraordinary quarter in Q2 2018 and faced difficult comps. The most promising subscriber metric during the quarter was there are now over 700,000 FirstNet connections nationwide.
