"SiFive, a fabless semiconductor company (based on RISC-V instruction), raised more than US$125 million in a series D round funding from Qualcomm Ventures, Intel and Samsung. It is very interesting to see one of the biggest ARM's customers, Qualcomm, investing in ARM's direct competition. In the short term, ARM doesn't need to worry as RISC-V chips are more prominent in the IoT domain and can not compete in the mobile space. But in the longer run, we believe SiFive will be a tough competitor." – Abhilash Kumar
