Global Smartwatch Shipments by Model Quarterly Tracker, Q1 2018-Q1 2024

Comments:

The global smartwatch market declined 2% YoY. The reduction was driven by a decline in global brands like Apple and Samsung and low shipment volumes by Indian brands including Fire Boltt and boAt due to high inventory levels. However, Chinese brands including Huawei, Xiaomi, BBK (Imoo) and Honor observed growth.  By region, India, MEA, and China region shipments grew by 3%, 3%, and 15% respectively. North America observed the largest YoY decline of 19% among all the regions, followed by LATAM, EU and Rest of AP. By type, Basic Smartwatches observed a 3% YoY.

Comments:

The global HLOS smartwatch witnessed a 2% YoY decline in quarterly shipments. Under HLOS, Huawei, Garmin, and Xiaomi experienced a YoY increase of 78%, 30%, and 107% respectively. Apple declined 20% YoY and Samsung also had a 2% decline in shipment units. By region, China continued to drive the growth of the HLOS smartwatch market, fueled by the Huawei GT 4, GT 3 series, and Watch 4 series along with the good performance of Apple S9.

Overview:

India smartwatch market grew 41% YoY in Q4 2023, led by Fire-Boltt with 30% market share and followed by Noise and boAt. While aforementioned OEMs drove the growth, newer OEMs like Fastrack, BeatXP,  Boult supplemented the growth. The market saw over 60 active smartwatch OEMs in Q4 and over 380 active SKUs. Global TWS Hearables Market Analysis: Q4 2023
