Counterpoint recently visited retail stores in Beijing to hear real opinions from sales agents and customers on recent smartphone features. The features we wanted to hear about includes generative AI, satellite communications as well as the traditional price, camera, durability, display and others.
During the retail visits, we tried to uncover whether sales agents and/or either customers had a strong interest in AI features or on-device AI which is a hot global topic. Will new AI features drive the smartphone market recovery in China? China is one of the most tech driven markets globally.
