Overview:

MEA smartphone shipments grew 4.3% YoY in 2021, as total volume reached 179 million units. After a strong V-shaped rebound in 2020, pent-up demand is in the rear-view mirror, as the market is operating on the new economic realities of the post-pandemic world.

Smartphone penetration in 2021 reached an all-time high of 64%, a net gain of almost 7% since the pandemic. This shows the region’s migration to smartphones continues and is set to increase further.
