Global OLED panel shipments are projected to decline 5% YoY in 2026, following a 3% YoY increase in 2025, according to Counterpoint Research’s latest OLED Shipment Report. The slowdown reflects a 7% YoY decline in smartphone OLED panel shipments and a 1% decline in OLED TV demand, as rising memory prices and higher component costs weigh on OEM production plans, device pricing, and consumer purchasing decisions.
Smartphone OLED panel shipments are projected to decline 7% YoY, while OLED TV shipments are expected to decrease 1% YoY. Despite lower overall shipment volumes, OLED panel revenues are forecast to increase 1% YoY, supported by accelerating IT OLED adoption, a richer product mix, Apple's introduction of the iPhone Duo, and the anticipated transition to OLED displays in MacBook Pro models. Despite weakness in smartphones, IT OLED applications will remain the industry’s primary growth engine in 2026:
IT OLED Applications Drive Industry Growth
Despite broader market weakness, IT OLED applications are expected to remain the industry's primary growth engine in 2026, with significant shipment gains across notebooks, monitors, and tablets.
- OLED Notebook Panels (+50% YoY): Growth driven by Apple's transition to OLED MacBook Pro models and increasing adoption of premium OLED displays across AI PCs and high-end notebooks.
- OLED Monitor Panels (+77% YoY): Strong momentum supported by expanding gaming monitor portfolios, higher refresh rates, improving panel performance, and increasing adoption in premium productivity applications.
- OLED Tablet Panels (+8% YoY): Continued growth supported by broader OLED adoption in premium tablets as brands differentiate through improved display performance, power efficiency, and thinner form factors.
