Global display glass revenues increased 11% YoY in Q3 2025, as robust shipments combined with higher prices drove revenue growth, according to Counterpoint Research’s latest Display Glass Report. Shipments increased 4% YoY while prices increased 7% YoY.

Display glass revenues reached their highest point in at least 10 years. “With price increases established in the second half of 2024 based on a depreciated yen, display glass revenues have marked double-digit percentage increases in every quarter of 2025,” said Research Director Bob O’Brien. “We expect these good times to end in Q4 since we don’t expect another price increase, and shipment volumes are projected to decline sequentially.” Glass shipments and revenues are expected to decline by 3% QoQ in Q4 2025, with YoY growth slowing to 3%.

The display glass market is increasingly dominated by China, with its share of revenues rising from around 50% before 2020 to nearly 75% currently. As both Samsung Display and LG Display have shifted to OLED and closed LCD lines, their total display capacity in South Korea has decreased. Their glass demand has further reduced because all the OLED capacity added since 2017 requires only one piece of glass, whereas LCD requires two.
