Overview:
Verizon remains the largest US carrier with 90 million consumer postpaid connections, 26 million wireless business subscribers, and four million wireless prepaid subscribers. The quarter was defined by low gross additions and low churn, partly due to the pandemic and partly due to all major operators aggressively defending their smartphone bases. This kept overall sales down YoY. In addition, the delayed launch of the 5G iPhones affected sales metrics. The Pro and Pro Max volumes came in earnest in December, late in the quarter. There is tremendous opportunity with the Tracfone acquisition if approved.
This report analyzes Verizon's 4th quarter performance, its 5G network rollout, and its outlook for 2021.
