The India smartphone market declined by 62% YoY in May 2020 as the country recovers from the lockdown due to the COVID-19 impact. We estimate the India smartphone market to decline 13% YoY in 2020 to reach 137 million units.
The market is slowly returning to normal. The government allowed online channel to deliver nonessential items as well. In addition, offline shops have also started opening. The smartphone manufacturing factories have also started opening and slowly picking pace. We believe that the factories will further ramp up production in the coming months.
