"STMicroelectronics has partnered with Tieto, a leading software and services company, to develop automotive Central Control-Units on STMicroelectronics’ Telemaco3P platform. This platform also offers optional modules for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE and V2X communication.
With increasing connectivity, data generation and over-the-air (OTA) updates, automakers are demanding better data privacy and security. Previously, multiple MCUs were used for integrating all the required features. The tier-one suppliers and software developers have been working to decrease the number of MCUs in a car and combine into a few MCUs. The electronics cost in a car is increasing and is expected to reach 50% of total cost by 2030. With the rising use of electronic components, control and security are major concerns. This type of embedded solution will help to improve security in wireless connections, OTA updates, and car-to-car communication." – Soumen Mandal
