“Google will have its ‘Made by Google’ event on Tuesday, October 15, and introduce new high-end smartphones – Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, a new notebook – Pixelbook Go, and some smart gadgets including its true wireless earbuds – Pixel Buds 2. Amazon and Microsoft have introduced their own true wireless earbuds in the last two weeks, and now Google is expected to do the same with a forthcoming refresh of its Pixel Buds. The first-generation Pixel Buds were not exactly true wireless buds, and the market response was negative due to the poor features and functionalities. However, this time, Google may differentiate Pixel Buds 2’s capabilities with Google Assistant, considering that voice assistants play a larger role in the lives of consumers using true wireless earbuds these days. As Pixel Buds 2 will compete with Amazon Echo Buds and Samsung Galaxy Buds rather than Apple AirPods, it will be difficult for Google to price it much higher than the US$159 for the first-generation version.” – Liz Lee
