"Global automaker Nissan is testing its Invisible-to-Visible (I2V) technology it showcased during CES 2019. The company has partnered with Japan's Docomo – a leader in fifth generation mobile communications technology, for the tests. I2V technology combines the real and virtual world experiences, using information from vehicle sensors and data from the cloud. This helps drivers “see the invisible”, i.e. blind spots such as objects behind a building or around the corner.
Nissan envisions future vehicles to be autonomous. While cameras and sensors will help with navigation, cloud connectivity on low latency 5G networks will provide intelligence to identify objects behind the blind spots. This will enable the true autonomous driving experience." – Hanish Bhatia
