Overview
Q1 was slightly softer than last year, mainly because China was coming off a stronger base. China remained the biggest foldable market, but its decline pulled down the global total. Outside China, the picture was steadier, with North America, Korea and MEA holding up better. North America stood out the most, helped by Samsung and Motorola, while the overall market continued to move further toward book-type models as larger-screen devices gained more attention over clamshells. Looking ahead, 2026 shipments are still expected to grow 21% YoY, with momentum picking up in H2 as more major launches come to market.
