Counterpoint research tracked more than 3000 models across 40+ countries on a quarterly basis. The global mobile phone industry shipped slightly under half a billion mobile phones in Q3 2015. Smartphone remained the key driver for growth and represented around 73% from the total handset shipments. We have seen some top selling smartphone coming from brands like Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi on global level but the landscape varied across various regions & countries.
