Overview:

In April 2019, South Korea became the first country in the world to commercially launch a 5G mobile network. Although subscriptions increased faster than expected in the early stage of 5G commercialization as well as when compared to the early LTE period, the growth has slowed down since Q4 2019 due to the gaps in 5G coverage, network quality issues and absence of killer services. However, the situation will gradually change.
