"Qualcomm has acquired TDK's remaining stake in the joint venture, RF360 Holdings, which developed RF front-end (RFFE) components such as filters, amplifiers and tuner modules for 5G smartphones. Qualcomm entered into a partnership with TDK to focus on developing RFFE parts that connect cellular modems to antennas, which have historically been separate components inside smartphones and other cellular devices. This RFFE technology is highly crucial for delivering faster speeds and greater reliability on 5G mobile devices as it operates on higher frequency airwave bands. The acquisition will enable Qualcomm to deliver highly integrated and optimized end-to-end solution as a package to device OEMs. The solution will play a key role to enhance a device's battery life, reception, call quality and data speeds." - Hanish Bhatia
