At the 3G/LTE Summit in Hong Kong, Qualcomm unveiled the details of its much anticipated Snapdragon 820 SoC along with the new X12 Modem, Kryo Core. Other interesting products were the Spectra ISP, Next-gen Hexagon 680 DSP, Zeroth Cognitive Platform and Snapdragon Smart Protect. It also detailed its QRD programme which had an update on Global Pass initiative. Due perhaps to the operator-centric audience Qualcomm’s focus was on carrier aggregation as well as introducing the benefits of LTE-U.
