The global mobile phone industry shipped 455 million unit mobile phones in Q1 2015, a growth of 4.8% over Q1 2014.
Shipments increased double digit in some regions while in other regions decreased slightly. Asia accounting for the slightly over half of the total shipments in the quarter followed by Europe. In terms of countries, the shipment volume was once again driven by China and India, accounting for almost 36% of the total shipment volume. However India shipments showed some decline affected by the increase of import duty and Chinese New Year holiday week factories close down.
