China Singles Day Smartphone Market Analysis 2023
Overview:
Smartphone sales increased 5% YoY during China's two-week Singles Day festival to reach 12.5 million units, indicating an improvement in market demand and consumer sentiment. However, it should be noted that there were base effects, as the Chinese market was constrained by COVID-19 lockdowns during the year-ago period. The Android camp saw an 8% YoY increase in sales volume, largely attributed to the strong performance of Huawei, Xiaomi and HONOR, while Apple’s sales volume dipped 4% YoY due to fierce competition from Huawei’s return.
