This report aims to understand and analyze consumer purchase preferences for consumer electronics (CE), such as smartwatches, headphones, tablets, laptops, and cameras, during India’s 2024 festive season. The report provides an in-depth analysis of consumer preferences across product categories, planned budgets, preferred channel of purchase, motivations for buying, and key parameters for eCommerce platform suitability. The survey, sponsored by Amazon India, utilized an online quantitative questionnaire to collect responses from individuals owning smartphones who prefer to purchase consumer electronics this festive season. The sample included 2,001 individuals, across tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 cities in India representing a diverse group categorized by age, education, gender, and occupation. Data collection took place in September 2024.
