  • The global Wi-Fi chipset market is poised for substantial growth by 2025, primarily driven by significant upgrades in Wi-Fi 6/6E and the introduction of Wi-Fi 7.
  • To meet the growing demand for advanced Wi-Fi capabilities, leading vendors are transitioning to cutting-edge nanometer chip technologies.
  • The rise of edge AI and high-speed internet demand will further drive the adoption of Wi-Fi 7.

  • Key manufacturers are strategically collaborating with end-use clients, such as smartphone and PC makers.

The global Wi-Fi chipset market is poised for substantial growth, with projections indicating an increase from $15.97 billion in 2024 to $18.48 billion by 2025 – a 15.6% annual growth rate. When combined with Wi-Fi 7, this share is projected to rise to 80% in 2024 and 84% in 2025. The introduction of Wi-Fi 7 is expected to catalyze another substantial upgrade cycle, similar to past transitions from Wi-Fi 4 to Wi-Fi 6.

The growing adoption of advanced Wi-Fi technologies is evident in consumer devices such as smartphones, gaming consoles, tablets, and laptops. The rise of edge AI and increase in demand for high-speed internet will further drive the adoption of Wi-Fi 7. High-end devices like HP’s PCs and Apple's upcoming iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max are leading the way in integrating Wi-Fi 7.

In 2023, Broadcom led the Wi-Fi market with nearly one-third of the total revenue, followed by Qualcomm and MediaTek.
