The Key Process of Samsung Foundry’s Future
Overview:
Samsung’s SF2 (2nm) process is emerging as the company’s most critical advanced-node milestone, with capacity expected to double by end-2025 compared to 2026 levels. Early demand is anchored by Samsung LSI’s Exynos 2600, multiple mining-ASIC customers (MicroBT and Canaan), and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Elite Gen 5. Samsung is also expanding into high-profile AI/HPC wins, including Tesla’s AI5 and AI6, which could drive over 100K wafers per year once in mass production. If yield improvements stay on track, SF2 may represent Samsung’s strongest opportunity in years to narrow the gap with TSMC in leading-edge foundry technology.
