China’s Digital Cockpit Application Processor Market Heats Up: Qualcomm Leads, Local Brands Close In
Overview: China’s transition to software-defined vehicles is rapidly increasing demand for powerful digital cockpit processors capable of handling displays, audio, telematics, gaming, voice, cameras, parking, and ADAS from a single platform. EV brands are already using dual-chip setups for smoother performance, with processor shipments projected to grow at a CAGR of 3% during 2026 and 2035. Qualcomm leads with over half the market in 2025 through broad partnerships and advanced products, but domestic vendors such as SemiDrive, SiEngine, AutoChips, Rockchip, and HiSilicon are set to nearly double their share by 2035. Advanced nodes are spreading fast, favouring 7nm and below, while integrated SoCs, rising AI workloads, stronger NPUs, and future chiplet designs will reshape competition.
