Amdocs, Motive and Ericsson have emerged as ‘Pacesetters’ in the Global Entitlement Server COmpetitive Ranking and Evaluation (CORE) for 2025, according to Counterpoint Research’s latest Global Entitlement Server Landscape Report.

Commenting on the Entitlement Server rankings and the competitive landscape, Senior Analyst Varun Gupta said, “With eSIM adoption accelerating across consumer devices, particularly smartphones, operators are increasingly turning to Entitlement Servers as a critical enabler of digital services and customer experience. What began as a platform to support carrier entitlements like VoLTE and VoWiFi has now evolved to power advanced use cases such as eSIM quick transfer, smartwatch provisioning and RCS. This evolution positions the Entitlement Server at the center of operators’ digital transformation strategies, bridging device innovation with seamless connectivity.”

Gupta added, “The competitive landscape for Entitlement Servers is shifting from traditional network core providers such as Ericsson, Motive (formerly Nokia) and HCLTech (formerly HPE) to a new wave of entrants including Amdocs, Redtea Mobile, 1GLOBAL, Netlync, Invigo and Elitnet. This transition has been driven by the rapid adoption of eSIM, the need for faster time-to-market, and the demand for cloud-native, API-driven architectures. Unlike legacy solutions that were tightly integrated with the network core, the new players are offering modular, scalable platforms that better align with operators’ digital service roadmaps and cross-device experiences. As a result, innovation in the Entitlement Server market is now being led by agile vendors combining speed, flexibility, and global interoperability.”

Commenting on the research findings, Research Director Mohit Agarwal said, “Amdocs, Motive and Ericsson have emerged as the ‘Pacesetters’ in the 2025 Entitlement Server CORE, distinguished by strong platform capabilities and execution. Amdocs and Motive continue to expand their portfolios with new use cases and tighter integration services, supporting operators in accelerating ES deployments. Ericsson has demonstrated leadership in execution, reinforced by long-standing partnerships with Tier-1 MNOs. Meanwhile, Netlync is positioning itself as a market disruptor with a cloud-native, flexible Entitlements-as-a-Service model tailored for MNOs and MVNOs seeking faster, more cost-effective adoption of entitlement solutions.”

Redtea Mobile and 1Global offer platforms comparable to the Pacesetters and are expected to intensify competition as demand for Entitlement Servers rises. HCLTech has emerged as a ‘Leader’, supported by strong market execution and established partnerships with Tier-1 MNOs. Elitnet provides a feature-rich solution, underpinned by long-standing relationships with operators. Netlync stands out with a self-onboarding model that streamlines entitlement integration and accelerates carrier deployments.

Invigo and WDS-Sicap have emerged as ‘Challengers’, offering highly capable platforms with features comparable to the Leaders. While their current market presence is more limited, their strong capabilities position them for future growth and increased impact.

Eastcompeace and Trasna are positioned as ‘Upstarts’, leveraging new partnerships and expanded platform deployments to grow their presence. With ongoing enhancements to their offerings, they are likely to progress steadily toward greater market maturity.

Background on Capability and Execution Parameters

We have analyzed and evaluated key companies in the eSIM value chain using our proprietary CORE framework, which maps active players according to their capabilities and success in the ecosystem. The capabilities cover criteria such as eSIM lifecycle management, BSS/OSS integration, authentication, analytics and support for Entitlement Servers, while the ecosystem part covers criteria such as geographical reach, partnerships, financial metrics, pricing models, platform deployments and eSIM device base. Parameters such as analytics, automation, authentication and entitlement integration are increasingly becoming important for orchestration players to offer best capabilities through their platforms.
