Overview:
Global smartwatch shipments rose 9% YoY to 41 million units in Q3 2025, maintaining rebound momentum from the prior quarter. HLOS smartwatches grew 14% YoY, led by Apple, Huawei, and Garmin, while Samsung shipments declined 5% YoY. Basic smartwatches increased 3% YoY, driven by Xiaomi's Redmi Watch 5 and Huawei's Watch Fit 4 series, and kids' smartwatches rose 4% YoY with Imoo holding leadership.
Regionally, India's local brands continued to weaken with a 23% YoY shipment drop in Q3 2025, projecting a 24% full-year decline amid competition and margin pressures, with fewer new entrants expected. OEMs are shifting toward premium segments featuring advanced sensors. China led with 31% YoY growth from Huawei's HLOS models, Imoo's kids' watches, and Xiaomi's budget offerings, while North America and Europe posted 15% and 16% YoY gains, respectively, primarily driven by Apple. With Chinese brands growing momentum, including Xiaomi, Huawei, and Imoo, China region is expected to sustain the lead in 2026 and beyond.
