"CEVA announced RivieraWaves Bluetooth 5.1 IP, supporting a new feature, Direction Finding via Angle of Arrival (AoA) and Angle of Departure (AoD) for enhanced location services. It is available in both Bluetooth Dual Mode and Bluetooth Low Energy mode. In version 5.1 of the Bluetooth Core specification, an optional Direction Finding capability was added.
This will help in complementing the existing location tracking system with better Indoor Positioning Systems (IPS) and Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS). With the wide adoption of Bluetooth on a large number of consumer devices (especially in smartphones), it will be helpful with industries 4.0, indoor positioning and real-time positioning in shopping malls, airports, parking etc." – Parv Sharma
