Overview:
The India smartphone market experienced a marginal YoY decline but grew 6% MoM in July-24. Consumer sentiment began to improve, driven by numerous promotions throughout the month. Additionally, several noteworthy launches by major brands contributed to the monthly growth. Xiaomi remained consistent at the first position in July 2024, capturing a 20% market share. The Redmi 13C 5G continued to be a top driver, while the newly launched Redmi 13 5G garnered a positive response from consumers across various channels. Online channel captured 39% share in Jul 2024. Amazon ‘Prime Day sale’ and ‘Big Saving Day’ by Flipkart were the highlight sale promotion during the month, Xiaomi led the channel with a 21% share driven by its Redmi Number series. Samsung’s shipments were flattish YoY in July 2024, and the brand ranked third in the market. It launched the 6th iteration of its foldable smartphones during the month, which received 40% more preorders than its predecessor.
